Limitless Ability

We all have greater capacities than we may realize. We all have God-given talents to recognize and develop. In Science and Health Mary Baker Eddy writes: "A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms. It raises the thinker into his native air of insight and perspicacity." Science and Health, p. 128;

One time I was suddenly called upon to write and submit in a few hours a report on a technical subject. The allotted time was unbelievably short, considering the researching, writing, and rewriting considered necessary for an acceptable job. Before starting the work I took time out to pray in Christian Science. I realized that as an expression of God, Mind, I reflected the Mind-bestowed ability to reason, perceive, and express the ideas needed to complete the assignment. No fear, I declared, no lack of time, limited knowledge, or the like, could interfere with my task.

Then, without preliminary work I began to dictate the report. My thoughts flowed smoothly and orderly, and within two hours the work was complete. The report brought commendation for its quality and the short time taken to prepare it. This experience was clear proof of the efficacy of Christian Science in enabling one to master limitations and attain unrestricted proficiency.
