Last year I had a healing which gave me a clearer understanding of God as divine Principle and Life. While riding on a motorcycle and enjoying an exciting ride, suddenly both the driver and I became afraid. The fear seemed very strong, but I took a firm stand against it on the basis that since God is good, perfect, and All, there could be no fear. I knew that God is my Father; He is here now, and in Him is no fear. These thoughts came in less than two seconds. Then the motorcycle tipped, and branches hit my face. I knew I had nothing to worry about since I had already overcome the fear of something terrible happening.

I went to the campus clinic to wash my face and put a light bandage on. To the people in the clinic who wanted to help, the damage to my face appeared serious, and I was told that I should have stitches. I said that I was a Christian Scientist and did not want any medication or stitches. In so many ways, fear tried to creep in. I even heard someone say that my appearance was ruined for life, and others agreed. However, with the inspiring, prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner and my extended and uplifting study of Christian Science, all evidence that an accident had occurred vanished in less than two weeks. My face healed without a scar. Soon after this healing I was asked to work in a job where my appearance was very important.

I am very happy to be a member of The Mother Church, a branch church, and a Christian Science college organization, and for the inspiring years in Sunday School. I also am extremely grateful for the branch churches, societies, college organizations, and practitioners around the world.
