I have never written a testimony for the periodicals, but as I opened the Sentinel one week, my eyes fell on the notice "Submitting Testimonies." I read this carefully and thought, "I have never shown my gratitude to The Mother Church for a healing I had twenty years ago. Why not do so now?"

At that time I had severe discomfort in the abdomen. I was weak and had to hold to a railing when going up and down stairs. If a trip to the city was necessary, I went, but I planned to find chairs so that I could rest during the trip. One day in the winter, when I was studying the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly, I was sitting near a window. As I looked out at the winter landscape, I noticed our large tree and its bare black branches. It seemed to have no life at all. Then I reasoned, "In a few months it will be beautifully adorned in green leaves—a living witness of its, at present, unseen life."

I then turned my thought to myself, and the following came to me and I said out loud, "Even if I have to pass through what seems to be death, I won't be dead." I felt satisfied that Life is God, and therefore that it is ever present and eternal. I went on with my study, communing with God each day as we learn to do in Christian Science. I do not know just when the healing took place, but I finally realized that the weakness was gone and I was healed.
