The Sparrow in the Road

[The author wrote this true story last spring when she was in the eighth grade.]

It was a bright May afternoon, and Jenny was driving home from school with her mother.

Suddenly she cried out, "Look, Mom quick!" and pointed to a tiny heap fluttering in the middle of the road.
