Decisive Spiritual Thinking

"The time for thinkers has come,"  Science and Health, Pref., p. vii; writes Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Very little has ever been accomplished in any phase of human endeavor that has not been preceded by decisive thinking and acting. Decisive thinking is accurate thinking, conclusive thinking, buoyant with inspiration. Inspiration, being divine, may come with a gentle nudge, a heartwarming glow, or with a vigorous thrust; but in any event its source is spiritual and its purpose progressive. The action that follows is the natural expression and logical consequence of such thinking.

Christ Jesus, while compassionate and gentle beyond measure, was a decisive thinker. His statements were concise, accurate, to the point. They inspire action today as they did then. Many are injunctions to act, to "heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils."  Matt. 10:8;

Are today's needs any different? From every corner of the earth we hear a cry for action, for help, for solutions, for healing. Yet no action or solution can be right or lasting unless it be brought about through and as a result of spiritually inspired, decisive thinking.
