Progress "from glory to glory"

The Scriptures tell us, "We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." II Cor. 3:18; From beginning to end the Scriptures describe this irresistible spiritual evolution that has no missing link. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Christ's Christianity is the chain of scientific being reappearing in all ages, maintaining its obvious correspondence with the Scriptures and uniting all periods in the design of God." Science and Health, p. 271;

Spiritual progress is not abstract or theoretical. For one who claims it for himself and lives it by forsaking egotism and the belief of life in matter, it has potency and immediacy. Christ Jesus, referring to his advancing demonstration, foretold: "Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God." Luke 22:69;

From changing water into wine to raising the dead, Jesus exemplified progress in his healings. In one instance he raised a girl who had apparently just died; in another, a mother's only son already on the way to burial. He raised Lazarus, who had lain in the grave four days. And finally he raised himself. These works were steps in the demonstration of the power of God and of man as His reflection to nullify the laws of matter and restore harmony. They were the visible signs of the Master's marvelously ascending thought.
