A verse in the Responsive Reading of a Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly one week read as follow (Lam. 3:57): "Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not."

This was indeed proved by an experience I had a few years ago. A property had been left me by my mother. The family solicitor passed on soon afterward. The business changed hands, and the new solicitor took over. I put the house up for sale; and offer was made and accepted. At this stage of the proceeding I was informed by the acting solicitor that the necessary documents were not available and could not be found among the former solicitor's files. The prospective purchaser naturally withdrew his interest in the sale.

However, through prayer I was divinely guided not to communicate directly with this solicitor. Instead I took the case to another solicitor. He took a very serious view of the entire situation, pointing out that it was one that needed extreme caution, as well as diplomatic handling. Furthermore, he very much doubted a favorable outcome. I then realized the importance of taking this problem to God. I sought the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner, who saw with much clarity there was only divine influence governing and no other will but the Father's will. This had the wonderfully harmonious results that only such sacred work can achieve through the understanding of the teachings of Christian Science.
