Listening with the Heart

[For children]

Most of the time, except when we are asleep, we are listening to something or for something.

Walking to school in the morning, we are listening to what our friends have to say. In the early spring at evening we sometimes stop and listen to the little frogs singing their chorus down by the brook. Sometimes when we are going to sleep at night, we listen to the rustle of the leaves if there happens to be a tree outside our window. And we listen to the raindrops on the roof or on the pavement.

Listening is important, as we sometimes find out if we have ever failed to listen to what our parents or teachers have told us and so made some mistake.
