I wish to express my very deep gratitude for Christian Science

I wish to express my very deep gratitude for Christian Science. It is the most wonderful thing in my life. It has healed me, protected me, and guided me in every way.

Many years ago, before becoming a student of Christian Science, I had a period of extreme deafness. This was a great trial and drawback. Then a woman who introduced my mother to Christian Science asked me if I would go to a practitioner if she made the appointment for me. I readily consented. The practitioner told me of God's love and then gave me a treatment. When I came out, I was conscious of having been completely healed, because I found the noise of the traffic almost unbearable. My hearing has since been much more acute than before I experienced this difficulty.

More recently on holiday I sustained an injury, and it appeared that I had broken a rib. As I was staying with people who are not Christian Scientists, I wanted to prove the healing power of Science in their home. They certainly didn't understand my lack of fear and my refusal to go to a doctor or a hospital. The injury did not make any difference in the plans that had been made for the day. I insisted that we go out as arranged. That night I retired early, and after studying the Lesson-Sermon, outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly, I realized clearly that no break had occurred in my real being, which is spiritual, the image and likeness of God. The next day in the train coming back to London, I rejoiced at the freedom I had experienced and in the complete healing.
