I should like to testify to the benefits I have received from Christian Science and to express my gratitude for Mrs. Eddy, who has given this Science to the world.

The first benefit was the healing of a serious nervous condition which was caused by insomnia from which I had suffered for several months. It had resisted a number of medical treatments and had reduced me to feebleness and despair.

At that point, my mother (a Christian Scientist who has been able to live alone, although she has reached the age of ninety-one, and who entered a retirement home only a short time ago) directed me to a devout practitioner. She received me with compassion and gave me some passages from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to read. Her first efforts were directed to helping me give up medicine.
