My introduction to Christian Science came when I was having a difficult time in the office where I was employed. I called on a Christian Science practitioner, and through the wonderful truths she shared with me and the inspiration I gained, the office situation was met in a very short time and in a way that was beyond my expectations, with blessings for everyone concerned. This demonstration of the availability of the wisdom of divine Mind awakened me to realize that Christian Science could help me in all ways.

The second time I called on the practitioner I told her I had been having treatment from a chiropodist for two years with very little relief from severe pain due to fallen arches. I wore steel arch supports in heavy shoes, and it was very difficult for me to walk. Now I was ready to rely wholly upon Christian Science for help.

The grand truths the practitioner shared with me assured me that healing was based on spiritual understanding. I was very much impressed by the word "understanding" and suddenly saw that spiritual understanding is the foundation for harmonious activity. In Proverbs we are told (3:13), "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding."
