My husband and I have had healings through Christian Science of colds, a fungus infection, a streptococcic throat, wounds, sprains, and many other ills. Our four children have had healings of so-called childhood diseases—many times in less than twenty-four hours—broken bones, scarlet fever, asthma, and a hernia. There is one healing which we consider a waymark in our family progress.

One morning our older son was brought home after he had been struck by an automobile while riding his bicycle to school. My husband and I were sitting at the breakfast table reading the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly at the time.

The woman who was the driver of the car was hysterical; and as my husband led our son to his bedroom, I quieted her, and she then went home, accompanied by a friend. The back end of a station wagon had caught the boy full on the side of his face, injuring his jaw, neck, and chin. His lower lip was badly cut.
