Healing Is Revelation

Is there a difference between healing by medical and by spiritual means? Yes, there is, in purpose, method, even in result. The purpose of the medical physician is to cure mortal mind and body through matter, while the metaphysician's aim is to correct an erroneous concept of man through Spirit.

Christian Science heals what is wrong physically by revealing what is true and light of the man made in God's likeness. In this process, inharmonious conditions of which the patient was not even aware are often brought to light and corrected. As Mrs. Eddy writes in "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 34), "A person healed by Christian Science is not only healed of his disease, but he is advanced morally and spiritually."

This was my experience when I turned to Christian Science for the healing of a spinal ailment after I had been told that medical science could not help me anymore. The healing was slow, for Christian Science was new to me, and many an old trust had to be done away with. But when the healing came, it was beautiful, perfect, and permanent. I gained more than a healthy body, for I was blessed with a happier and more wholesome outlook on life.
