The Word of God Is with Authority

When Mrs. Eddy presented to humanity her discovery of Christian Science and its mode of application, she did it with supreme authority. She did not assume this authority as a mere human person; it was divinely conferred upon her as the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science whom God had prepared for this holy office. She states in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 311), "I was a scribe under orders; and who can refrain from transcribing what God indites, and ought not that one to take the cup, drink all of it, and give thanks?"

Revelations of Truth came to Christ Jesus and to Mrs. Eddy from the same divine source. Those who accept these revelations merely as the presentation of a person may ignore or deride them. But those who accept them as the Word of God are healed; their lives are quickened and transformed by them, "for the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebr. 4:12).

When reading the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, one who is becoming spiritually-minded grasps the understanding that the printed words are designed to convey—words whose very purpose is to inspire with spiritual Truth.
