BE STILL AND KNOW

Be still, O friend, and know that where
Thou standest now is holy ground,
Since God is there.
Remove the sandals from thy feet.
Purge every thought of vain defeat;
Of each least sin, each fear,
Each impulse that dishonors God.
Then shall thy staff become a rod.
Then shall thy blinded eyes behold
The precious blessings that enfold
Thee now, oh, here and now!
