How grateful I am for the blessings...

How grateful I am for the blessings I have received from Christian Science! My family became interested in this religion when a friend gave my mother, who was ill, a copy of the Sentinel. A neighbor who was a Christian Scientist also expressed much kindness. Mother had help from a practitioner and was healed.

I then began to attend a Christian Science Sunday School, being about eight at the time, and I continued to attend until I was twenty years old. When I started going to Sunday School I wore glasses because of astigmatism. I learned there the First Commandment (Ex. 20:3), "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

I also learned the first two verses from Psalm 121, which read: "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." I knew that if this last sentence was true, then I did not need the help of glasses, and shortly after beginning to attend Sunday School, I stopped wearing them. A later compulsory examination at school proved that I no longer needed them. At the time of the examination I held to the truth that God fills all space.
