Ranoho Santa Fe, California (First Church).

The church edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Rancho Santa Fe, California, will be dedicated on Sunday, August 2, at two identical services, one at 11 o'clock in the morning and the other at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. The public is cordially invited....

The history of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Rancho Santa Fe, began in February, 1942, when an informal group of Christian Scientists began conducting church services and Sunday School in a private home.

Later the group rented the Garden Club temporarily and then moved to permanent quarters.

In August, 1947, this group was recognized as a Christian Science Society, a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1950 it was legally incorporated under the laws of California. In 1953 the society was further recognized by The Mother Church in Boston as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Rancho Santa Fe.

The dedication was made possible through the help of members, friends, the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, and the Selina C. Cornish Fund.—Encinitas Coast Dispatch (July 30, 1959).
