Progress in the College Organizations

College organizations and their members have risen to answer this challenging question posed in 1888 by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy: "Men and women of the nineteenth century, are you called to voice a higher order of Science?" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 99) More than two hundred college organizations and their many hundreds of members have been actively engaged in demonstrating the Science of Christ during the current year as well as other academic years. Through organization activities, such as Christian Science lectures, weekly testimony meetings, special interreligious programs, displays of literature, and particularly through the daily example and life of the individual organization member, the leaven of Truth is seen to be at work in the institutions of human learning.

These organization activities provided for in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy (see Art. XXIII, Sect. 8) continue throughout the year in various parts of the world. Many university organizations carry on their work through summer sessions, and of course those organizations in the Southern Hemisphere are in the midst of a busy academic year while their northern colleagues are enjoying a summer vacation. The prayerful activities of Christian Science organizations have brought much spiritual progress to those youthful individuals engaged in this work.

The following reports indicate how our organizations and members carry forward this important work.
