While an uncle who is a Christian Scientist was visiting in our home, I asked him about this Science, wondering if it could help me. I was thus guided to purchase a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Then I selected a practitioner from those listed in The Christian Science Journal, and upon my first visit I told him that I was seeking health, happiness, and peace.

I could not understand how God could love us and still make us sick. Through the study of Christian Science I have learned that God is infinite good, infinite Love, the only cause and creator, that He is divine Principle, and that man, made in His image, is spiritual. I am glad to have learned also that God does not cause man to be sick but that sickness is a false belief which is destroyed by Truth.

Prior to my study of Christian Science, I had been hospitalized three times, undergoing two operations, as a result of which I had suffered for seven years with chronic constipation. With the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of this difficulty.
