"THE SECRET PLACE"

The contemplation of the many comforting promises given in the ninety-first Psalm brings much encouragement and enlightenment. Its opening promise reads, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

This promise inspires the student of Christian Science to claim as real and true only those thoughts which emanate from the one Mind and thus to prove that his true dwelling place is in Soul, divine consciousness. As these spiritual thoughts are utilized, they naturally banish material beliefs, which have erroneously claimed to be real.

"The secret place" is the consciousness of divine Mind's presence. No mortal belief can ever enter here, nor does mortal mind know anything of man, who is God's image and likeness. Mary Baker Eddy makes this very clear in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," where she says (p. 325): "In Colossians (iii. 4) Paul writes: 'When Christ, who is our life, shall appear [be manifested], then shall ye also appear [be manifested] with him in glory.'"
