"I love Thy way of freedom,...

"I love Thy way of freedom, Lord." These words from Hymn No. 136 in the Christian Science Hymnal have often lifted me above a sense of bondage to material beliefs. I have received many wonderful healings in Christian Science. For these, I shall never cease to be grateful. The need for wearing glasses has been overcome. Partial deafness was healed when I realized that what was necessary was more spiritual understanding. This realization followed a contemplation of Mrs. Eddy's definition of "ears" on page 585 of the textbook, Science and Health.

One healing which has taught me a valuable lesson was that of the overcoming of frequent hemorrhages, which were accompanied by a fear of passing on. I had to cast out of my consciousness such false thoughts as fear, discouragement, and unhappiness, replacing them with true thoughts of expectancy, joy, and love. Moreover, I had to trust God from day to day and not outline my own future from a material standpoint.

Late one night I was full of alarm, for I thought the end was near. I was unable to get in touch with a practitioner to quiet my fears. A loved one, seeing my need, opened Science and Health to a passage concerning the Christ. As I read it I realized that I needed nothing but the Christ, Truth, and that God was ever present with me; so who or what could possibly be against me? That was enough; peace and harmony were restored to me. Words cannot express my gratitude for this and other experiences of the healing power of the Christ.
