Signs of the Times

Rev. R. M. Bissett, M.A. in sermon in the Milngavie and Bearsden Herald Dunbartonshire, Scotland
It is a matter of tremendous importance to see to it that in each new community of people a house of God bears witness to the fact that "man shall not live by bread alone." Among houses to dwell in must stand a house to worship in, a house which by its presence points men's minds from the things which are passing away to the things which abide.... We are meant to share certain basic beliefs:... that we are meant to be only when we acknowledge that we are the children of God, and that in Christ Jesus we have the Word of God to men....

More enduring even than stone and mortar is the engraving of the righteous law of God in the hearts and minds of Christian men and women.
