I should like at this time to express...

I should like at this time to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science and for the many blessings my family and I have received through this religion. My mother has been a student of Christian Science since she was a small child; so I was blessed in being brought up in this beloved religion. It protected me from many childhood difficulties.

As a college student I was privileged to be an active member of a Christian Science Organization on the campus and to enjoy the companionship of others who shared my religious convictions. During my college experience chronic eyestrain troubled me, and I began to wear glasses. During the next few years I wore first one pair, then a second, which were fitted by an expert in the optical field, but both pairs bothered me intensely.

I was finally able to take my stand and do without them. This freedom came during a time when I was studying Chapter XII, entitled "Testimonials" in "Miscellaneous Writings" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. The healing was not instantaneous, but the difficulty gradually disappeared as I held to this thought: See good, and you will see well. This healing occurred several years ago, and it has been permanent.
