In Psalms we read (107:8), "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" I wish to praise the Lord for His goodness in bestowing upon me the rich blessing of Christian Science.

More than twenty years ago I suffered from what the doctors called an incurable form of rheumatism. Truly "man's extremity is God's opportunity," for when medical means could do no more for me, a friend told me of someone she knew who had been healed by Christian Science. I was asked to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Not knowing about Christian Science Reading Rooms, a member of the family borrowed the book from the public library.

When Science and Health was brought to me I read it that entire afternoon and evening. In it Mrs. Eddy tells us (p. 201), "The way to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth through floodtides of Love." Truly, my reading was a pouring in of truth, and every statement I read I accepted as fact.
