It is with a deep sense of reverence...

It is with a deep sense of reverence and devotion, as well as of joy and praise, that I wish to express my sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science. To Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, to Mary Baker Eddy, our Leader, and to the practitioners, teachers, lecturers, and all others who are helping to bring this gospel of Truth to an ailing world, I am humbly and profoundly grateful.

My early life was one of much unhappiness and misunderstanding. In early middle life I found myself practically in a state of physical collapse. Much pain and suffering were experienced. I had treatment from an outstanding doctor for many months, and after thorough examinations and X rays, he dismissed me as being beyond his help.

I gave up a good position, as my health was such that I could not continue. Thereafter I spent much time in bed in severe pain, unable to sleep without the use of sedatives. At last I called a dear friend and told her of my condition. She had been a student of Christian Science for many years and simply radiated love. She suggested that I go to a practitioner who years before had healed her cousin of cancer. I told her that I was not physically able to go alone, and she said she would come and take me. I have been humbly grateful to this loving friend for what she did for me that day, because it started me on the road to health and happiness.
