I should like to express my unceasing...

I should like to express my unceasing gratitude for Christian Science. I have had numerous healings, some of which have been brought about through my own work and others through the work of a practitioner. For eight very happy years of attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School, I shall always be grateful. Much of what I learned during that time will always be remembered.

One of my first healings was that of a burned finger. I held to the fact that God is ever present and the only power. The pain disappeared, and the burned skin fell away, leaving new skin. Several years later I tripped against a bucket of scalding water, some of which spilled into my shoe. It came to me that, since accidents are unknown to God, this one had never really happened. Immediately the pain and redness disappeared.

My husband, who began the study of Christian Science soon after we were married, was able to give up the smoking habit of long standing. Within a year of our marriage it became necessary for us to leave my father-in-law's farm, on which we were working. We did not know where to go, but we held to the fact that as ideas of Mind we were in our right place. We requested help of a loving practitioner and were led to apply for a farm through the rehabilitation program for ex-servicemen. Although the method of selection used by the government was the ballot system, we knew that there was no reality in luck or chance and also that God's will would be done. Great was our joy and gratitude when we learned that we had been successful in getting a very good farm, from which there is a beautiful view of the beach and sea. There had been over two hundred other applicants for this farm. We were able to move to it on the same day we had to leave our former home.
