Christian Science has not only met my spiritual need as a religion, but it has never failed to meet all the human needs of a large family when we faithfully and wholeheartedly adhered to its teaching. There have been many proofs of God's loving care in the healing of children's diseases and other physical conditions, as well as in the overcoming of lack, fear, discouragement, and loss.

At one time our children and all others in their schoolroom were sent home to be placed under quarantine, for they had been exposed to a so-called contagious disease. Through the work of a loving practitioner all our fears were quickly eliminated, and not only were our children protected, but no other case of the disease broke out among the children in that schoolroom.

At another time our youngest child wakened us in the night, and we found that he had broken out with measles. The subject of that week's Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly was "God the Only Cause and Creator." I read this lesson aloud to the child, and before I finished it he had quieted down and gone to sleep. The truth read in that lesson lifted me so far above anxious parental fear that I was not surprised to find the child completely free from all symptoms when he wakened the next morning. The argument came that our other children and several neighbor children as well had been exposed. As I recalled the beautiful healing I had just witnessed, it did not take long to reverse this argument. I realized that God cares for and protects all of His ideas and that whatever blesses one must bless all. That was the end of the measles in our neighborhood.
