TWO EXPERIMENTS

[Of Special Interest to Children]

This is a true story of a boy named Jimmy, who proved for himself that Christian Science helps us when rightly applied.

Jimmy was fond of making experiments. In fact, he had a little laboratory in his basement where he could work with some of the simple chemicals that boys have such fun with. One Fourth of July Jimmy decided to try making his own firecrackers. The following Sunday his seat in his class in the Christian Science Sunday School was empty. His younger brother told the teacher of the class that Jimmy had had a serious accident. His firecracker had exploded right under him and had injured his leg so badly that he could not bend his knee or walk or stand without pain.

The teacher quieted the brother's fear by reminding him that Christian Scientists know that accidents never really happen because they are not known to God, good. When the brother asked her to come and help Jimmy get out of his trouble, she promised that she would.
