ONLY GOOD IS CATCHING

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Sue lives in a home where Christian Science is loved and practiced. She and her brother attend a Christian Science Sunday School. Here they are learning of God, their divine Father-Mother, who, the Bible says, is the giver of "every good gift and every perfect gift" (James 1:17). They are learning, too, that all God's children reflect His goodness.

When Sue was in the third grade, an epidemic kept several of her playmates away from school. She was a little afraid that she might be sick also. But her mother calmed her fears by reading to her the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. Then she spoke of the allness of God and His almighty power. She also pointed out error's nothingness and its lack of power.

Knowing that the power of Truth heals as quickly now as it did in Jesus' time, her mother soon found a way to turn Sue's thoughts away from sickness to God's perfect spiritual creation. Remembering that Sue liked to play with her bright new rubber ball, her mother suggested that they play a game. "I'm going to toss a ball to you, and you see if you can catch it," she said as she pretended to pick up a ball and throw it.
