Thirty-six years ago my wife...

Thirty-six years ago my wife was suffering from extreme nervousness and a stomach ailment which prevented her from eating without much attendant suffering. We employed the best medical aid available, but without her receiving any relief. She continued to grow worse, and before long she weighed only slightly over eighty pounds. In addition our baby daughter became anemic, and medical care for her was also unavailing. I was forced to call upon friends for financial aid, and I became irritable and ungracious, an unfit companion. I saw no reason for further effort to exist.

When conditions seemed the worst and error screamed loudest, Christian Science was presented to us, and a ray of light penetrated our darkness. Through the loving help of a practitioner, in approximately eighteen months my wife was restored to health. She regained her former weight of one hundred and forty pounds, was able to eat without concern, and expressed the greatest joy and happiness I have ever seen. The baby was also restored to normal health and was a joy in the home.

Without any human striving I was offered a position where my previous training was more useful, where I could be of greater service, and where the remuneration was sufficient to meet our obligations. Truly this was proof that divine Love enfolds all who seek it. The peace that came with these healings was the greatest I had ever known.
