A SONG FOR LITTLE CHILDREN

Like a candle in the dark
God's love shines all around;
I close my eyes and go to sleep,
For He has promised He would keep
His children safe and sound.

I do not need another light,
Or someone sitting near,
For God has shown me through the day
That He protects me every way
And tells me not to fear.

The little lambs are drowsy now.
The birds have ceased their song.
They do not ask for lullabies,
But out beneath the starry skies
They rest the whole night long.

God's love is like a mother's arms,
Strong like a father's too.
Safe in His love His children stay
Quiet and still until the day
Comes back all fresh and new.
