TRUE SELFHOOD

We are not poor, alone, nor old,
Though mortal sense may argue thus;
We are joint heirs with Christ and hold
The wealth that God prepares for us.

We have companionship in Christ,
The Son of God, forever near,
A presence that has e'er sufficed
To banish loneliness and fear.

Christ is the pattern we unveil
To heal and bless the human race;
We follow this and grow not frail,
But strong in wisdom and in grace.

The Christ is our true self expressed,
Which sanctifies our humanhood
With spiritual riches, love professed,
And ageless life unfolding good.
