Signs of the Times

From The American Legion News Service Indianapolis, Indiana

National Commander Donald R. Wilson has called upon the 17,337 posts of The American Legion and the 14,000 units of the American Legion Auxiliary, representing a combined membership of almost 4,000,000, to take the initiative in a mighty and continuing rededication of faith in God, a program urging church attendance every Sunday and prayer every day for divine guidance.

In a letter ... National Commander Wilson said: ... " 'For God and Country' The American Legion was dedicated, and those are the words we should ever live by. It is fitting, therefore, that we of The American Legion who have fought together in three wars should pray together today and that we should implore the people of our nation to join with us in an appeal for divine guidance in one of the dark hours of our country's history.
