THE SIMPLICITY OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Christian Science is not difficult. At times it may seem to be, but it is we who make it so. It is based fundamentally upon the allness of God and the perfection of His creation, from which naturally ensues the unreality of anything in direct opposition to this perfect creation. It expresses and emphasizes the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God.

The Bible teaches us that all these verities are characteristic of the nature of God. It also teaches, and most people probably believe this, that God is good. Since this is so, then it must follow that God, or good, is all-powerful, everywhere present, and all-knowing. In other words, good is the only power, presence, and knowledge. Therefore the opposite of good, evil, or error as Mary Baker Eddy terms it, is unreal. There is no room for anything but good where all space is filled by God. Again, there can be no other power where good, God, is understood as omnipotent, allpowerful.

You can know only the truth; you cannot know error—you can only believe it. A story is told that the devil said to a friend one day, "I am going to create a new world for myself."
