"Trust in the Lord with all thine...

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." These inspiring words from Proverbs (3:5, 6) have certainly proved true in my experience, for as I have trusted in the Lord, He has lovingly guided me into Christian Science.

As a young girl I suffered every winter from tonsillitis. One day during this illness, my grandmother, who had just heard of Christian Science, gave me a Sentinel to read. I was then about eleven, and though I did not understand much of what I read, I was instantaneously healed of that trouble, and it never returned. However, it was a year later when I found that the church from which my grandmother had obtained the Sentinel also had a Sunday School.

About this time I felt that the Sunday School I was then attending no longer satisfied me. The Bible seemed such an obscure book, and an understandable God was even farther away. For this reason I began to visit the Sunday Schools of my friends. One day a little friend who was a Christian Scientist invited my sister, who was then suffering from a nervous breakdown, to her Sunday School. I recall how happy my sister used to be on her return home, and not being happy myself, because I had not found what I was seeking, I began to ask her questions. As the weeks went by, she improved so rapidly that no one thought any more of her nervous breakdown, for she indeed had been healed.
