It is my happy privilege to express...

It is my happy privilege to express gratitude for the many blessings that have been mine over a period of years. I came to Christian Science with a complication of diseases, among them tuberculosis and a fibroid tumor. These were healed while I was reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Other things took longer, and I had help from faithful practitioners.

In 1938 I fell on a waxed floor and dislocated my hip, although I did not know it then. I was in a practitioner's home, so had help at once. After being assisted into my car, I drove home. I attended church with the aid of my daughter and a friend, who held my arms and steadied me when I stood up to sing or went upstairs. Several days later the thought came to me, All I need is one thought of Truth made my own, and this error will vanish into the nothingness from which it came. I was singing Mrs. Eddy's hymn "Feed My Sheep" (Poems, p. 14) while I was ironing, and suddenly I felt and heard the bone go back into the socket.

I had sung all the time this demonstration was being made, and the woman who lived in the rear house bought Science and Health to find out how I could have such faith. I had gone on with my duties as usual, but with great difficulty.
