GRATITUDE HEALS

"Just how much good do you get out of the Wednesday testimony meetings?" The writer asked herself this question one evening, and the challenging question which came in reply was, "Just how much do you give to the testimony meetings?"

That these meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist, are highly important is evidenced by the fact that Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, made provision for a midweek meeting for the specific purpose of audibly glorifying God and illustrating Christ's power to heal. She says in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. VIII, Sect. 24): "'Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's (St. Paul). Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, 'who healeth all thy diseases' (Psalm 103:3)."

Many are the healings which take place when thought is uplifted in humble gratitude to the Giver of all good for healings of sickness and sin, freedom from fear and limitation, dominion over sorrow and grief. Not only those who listen are helped and healed, but oftentimes the speaker also finds release from some long-standing difficulty.
