THERE IS NO END OF THE ROAD

The end of the road is a myth. No one ever comes to a place from which he cannot advance in the right direction. No one ever reaches obstruction which can prevent his progress in spiritual self-knowledge. Only false sense, weary with futility, lies down to sleep and then dreams of arrival at the end of a road. One who keeps on going can always keep on going in ceaseless expression of the divine Principle, God, in which man actively lives.

God, the Soul, or creator, of man, is infinite and therefore can never terminate or be terminated. Hence man, the spiritual idea by which God expresses Himself, is aware of endlessness in every aspect of his being. In varying ways the great Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, has set forth the interminable nature of all things real and has thus supplied comfort and healing for suffering human sense, which believes, yet dreads the belief, that everything comes to an end.

The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," contains, for instance, this assuring statement (p. 507): "Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source." Inexhaustible source is God, and man, the outcome of God, bears witness to God's inexhaustibility. To man, therefore, every avenue of infinite activity is forever open. There is no end to that which is desirable for man, and neither is there any end to the fulfillment of right desires.
