Our family has had many physical healings and wonderful proofs of God's protection. One of these proofs occurred about eighteen years ago.

I was assisting in taking down a high observation tower. We had taken down everything except the framework, which consisted of heavy timbers. These timbers, without an warning, began to fall. My first thought was to run, but I stumbled and fell to the ground. I lay there face down with the timbers falling all around me. I was knowing the truth as I think I had, never known it before. I felt a great sense of God's presence and protection as I lay there. When it was over, I got up and looked around me. The ground on all sides was a twisted mass of wood, but I was untouched. My brother-in-law, who was also assisting, said that one of the cross-beams in falling came within a few feet of my back, but that something seemed to carry it in another direction.

Our boy, a few years ago, was healed of a bad ear condition that might have been mastoiditis. I was healed of a painful recurring back condition of several years' standing, which had caused me a great deal of discomfort and inconvenience. The last time this condition manifested itself I tailed a practitioner. At that time I was ushering in a branch Church of Christ. Scientist. I went to church as usual, knowing it was the right thing to do. I received my healing, and the condition never presented itself again. That was about fifteen years ago.
