Healing received through reading textbook

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 13), "If our petitions are sincere, we labor for what we ask; and our Father, who seeth in secret, will reward us openly." My reward came in being led to the study of Christian Science. Through the reading of the textbook alone I received my first healing, although it was not until some weeks later that I suddenly realized I was free. I had suffered from chronic rheumatism and neuritis for many years.

Christian Science has brought many other blessings into our family during the past twelve years. I have had many healings, some instantaneous. Among these instantaneous healings was one of sore and tender feet. I had been unable to walk any distance without great discomfort. I am most grateful for this healing, which has been permanent, and for the loving help of the practitioner. Golds, catarrh, influenza, lumbago, a sprained ankle, and many other ills have also been met and overcome.

I am deeply grateful for membership in The Mother Church and for the privilege of serving in a branch church and also for all activities connected with the Christian Science movement. Most sincerely do I thank God and our dear Leader for Christian Science. In some measure I am able to demonstrate the fact that God is Love.—(Mrs.) Amelia V. B.
