Haney, British Columbia, Canada (Society).

At the regular Sunday morning service on December 7, 1947, Christian Science Society, Haney, dedicated the first unit of the future church edifice.

Christian Science services were started in Haney in 1935, when a few students met at the home of one of their number. In 1937 services, testimony meetings, and Sunday School were held in a small rented building. In 1940 the group was recognized as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

A building at Lougheed Highway was purchased and dedicated in 1942. Some four years later, in 1946, this building was sold and a site purchased on the newly opened Sixth Avenue.

An architect was engaged and plans approved. This first unit consists of the Sunday School and church offices. Services have been held here since May, 1947.—Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Gazette.
