It was through the healing of a friend a number of years ago that I was led to study Christian Science. His was such a severe case of rheumatism that the doctors had given him up, and yet he was healed through Science. Severe colds, influenza, boils, and the smoking habit are among the numerous physical healings that I have experienced, and I am constantly finding through the study of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy greater freedom from fear, resentment, revenge, and lack.

It is the healing of the smoking habit twenty-six years ago that I wish to mention specifically. I had made three unsuccessful attempts to free myself from the use of cigarettes. The situation demanded a firm stand, and this time I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. I then awakened to see that the material body could not crave tobacco, for matter has no intelligence. The healing was complete within six days, and has been permanent.

Grateful as I am for the benefits mentioned, I am even more grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. Class instruction and a study of the Bible with the writings of our Leader, together with the Christian Science periodicals, awaken an ever-increasing appreciation of God's allness.
