The testimonies appearing in the Christian Science Sentinel have helped me so much that I should like to relate a healing which I experienced through Science, in the hope that it may be of help to others.

One afternoon at the office I became very ill and was in great pain. I worked as best I knew, repeating "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468), and the Lord's Prayer with the spiritual interpretation (ibid., p. 16), especially the line, "Thy kingdom is come; Thou art ever-present." I was at my work the next day, but at lunch time the pain returned with such severity that I had to leave.

In my fear I went to a doctor, who wanted to make arrangements for me to enter a hospital the next morning, saying that only an operation would help me. Unless I did this, he told me, he would take no further responsibility in the case.
