Concerning Christian Science Wartime and Postwar Activities

[From a Christian Scientist in Germany]

I wish to thank you very much for all you are doing for us over here. There is such a wave of genuine happiness, relief, trust, and hope as a response to your setting up this temporary distribution center in Germany that I do not know what to say to convey the full measure of sincerity with which one is met over here.

A small supply of books is being kept in hand to meet sudden demands of people who offer to take along books into the Russian Zone of Occupation. It may be recorded here that First Church of—and First Church of—were thus benefited when friends going to those places volunteered to take along a few copies of the Bible, the textbook, and the Manual. One of these churches gratefully acknowledged that this supply enabled them to reopen their Reading Room.
