It was my privilege about five years ago to write a testimony expressing gratitude for the healing power of Christian Science.

At this time I should like to relate how Christian Science helped me to overcome lack and unemployment, which had kept me in bondage and discouragement for over three years. During the so-called depression I lost everything, including home and loved ones, and could see nothing before me but a hopeless future. I knew very little about Christian Science and its application and was trying to work out things in my own way, but with the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was able to pray sincerely Christ Jesus' prayer (Luke 22:42), "Not my will, but thine, be done."

Finally a position was presented to me as a door-to-door salesman. This was not easy for an inexperienced person, but the practitioner encouraged me to accept it gratefully and humbly. The road was rough and rugged, but I pressed on, knowing that if I were only willing to trust God I should obtain a better job. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
