Although I have always thought...

Although I have always thought that I had a great deal to be thankful for, recently I realized there is much more, including membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and the healing of what appeared to be a very painful internal growth.

When I found that I could not cope with the latter I was led to an understanding practitioner, who greeted me so lovingly, answered my questions so patiently, and upheld me so steadfastly that I was immediately comforted and sustained. The second day after my visit I underwent a period of chemicalization. I know now what the expression means, "A reed shaken with the wind" (Matt. 11:7). By the end of the week the trouble had disappeared. Work was continued for several weeks to establish the healing and remove fear from my thought.

One day the thought came to me suddenly, "Why, you are glad that you had this experience!" It startled me because at first I could not see the reason for rejoicing over such intense suffering. On further reflection I realized that I was glad because Truth had been made clearer, and God's love had been demonstrated.
