A word fitly spoken, taught the Psalmist of old,
Its value expressing in a simile bold.
Is like pictures of silver with apples of gold.
Truth winningly spoken, convincingly told,
Commanding its beauty, enduring its hold.
Uplifting, and blessing in ways manifold!
Yes, a word fitly spoken, Truth winningly told,
