It has been my desire for some...

It has been my desire for some time to send in a testimony to the periodicals because I have been benefited so much through reading the testimonies of other Christian Scientists and listening to them in a branch church and in The Mother Church.

I am unspeakably grateful for the consecrated life of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, which enabled her to discover and give to the world Christian Science It shows us how to work out all the problems that confront us. I am grateful for the Sunday school and all its devoted teachers. At one time our small son began to take things that didn't belong to him. I got quite confused and went to his teacher, saying that the child had not been letting his light shine as a pupil in the Sunday school should. She answered with assurance, "Well, he has here in class." I was grateful for her clear insight of seeing the boy as God's perfect child. She talked to me about the struggle mortals have in keeping to the right path. I went home with new courage to be more patient and merciful with him.

When error raised its head again, I had specific work done for him by a Christian Science practitioner who had worked with me on several other problems. One of the references given me to study was the fifty-fourth chapter of Isaiah. It unfolded to me that I needed to release him to God and stop feeling a false sense of responsibility for him; that because he really could not do anything to make God ashamed, I likewise could not be made ashamed. Several false laws had to be handled, and then the child was released from the fault.
