Letters to the Press from Christian Science Committees on Publication

The Natal Witness

C. Shelton Agar, Committee on Publication for Natal, South Africa The Natal Witness

One is always glad to see any view of religion that helps to unite the Christian faith, and the article by Padre entitled "Broad-mindedness in Religion" helps Christians to meet on common ground without fear of unfriendly criticism, for we all try to worship the one God aright.

Evidence accumulates that the growing friendship between religious bodies, compared with a decade ago, points to a higher understanding of God which the people are gaining as the result of a little clear thinking. In the American forces one hears of chaplains being trained to conduct religious services irrespective of the teachings of any one church. In England one hears of church dignitaries gladly sharing their edifices with denominations whose churches have been demolished. These are helpful signs, reminding us that the time is coming when "there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."
