The many blessings that have come to me through my study and a growing understanding of Christian Science are indeed too numerous to mention individually, but I want to express my gratitude to God for them because I hope my experience will help someone else to gain glimpses of the healing truth.

Over seven years ago I became totally blind. This condition persisted for several weeks, but I am grateful that during that time I had absolute faith that the truth, as taught in Christian Science, would set me free. My daughters, who are not Christian Scientists, begged me to have an examination. Finally we agreed that I should have the examination, if, after that, they would allow me to be free to make my own demonstration. Four physicians, one of whom was a specialist, were called in, and they said that I should never see again, for the nerve was dead and the blood supply cut off. My trust was not disturbed by this verdict, which I clearly realized was not in accordance with God's law. It was not long before I could distinguish between night and day, and I continued to pray for more spiritual light.

At this time I had been interested in Christian Science about eighteen months. I had taken up its study because I was distressed both physically and financially. I had placed an advertisement in The Christian Science Monitor, and was led to go to church and, through the encouragement gained from the Christian Scientist whom I met, to read the writings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
